Unit 5 Mechanism Design

Unit Purposes

Mechanism design is “game theory in reverse,” a strategic version of social choice theory: rather than using game theory to understand the behaviour and incentives in existing institutions, it seeks to design institutions with desirable properties. The learning objectives of this unit is (1) to formulate the concepts of mechanism design and (2) to write algorithms for mechanism design to build a multiagent system.
